Mary brings over twenty-five years of experience in the industry to Energy Dance Center. Mary spends her time organizing the business side of the studio. She loves a big to-do list and organizing the millions of things that need to be done during the year.

Mary loves working at Energy Dance Center because of all the wonderful dancers and families! She believes that every dancer brings an important light to the studio.

You can usually find her running around and sometimes behind the front desk.

She likes: Diet coke and good chocolate

Shannon Raines
SHANNON RAINES Owner, Director of Rising Stars and the Ballet program Shannon began her training at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance. She continued her training at Minnesota Dance Theatre and Broadway Dance Center, New York. She has studied with Bonnie Mathis, Finis Jhung, Andrew Rist, Gus Giordano and Joe Tremaine as well as many other amazing choreographers. She began assisting and choreographing in her early teens and has taught for over 20 years. She developed the Classical Ballet Program at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance that included four levels of ballet instruction and three levels of Pointe technique. Her choreography includes ballet, tap, lyrical and jazz styles. She has won numerous choreography awards and many regional and national titles. Shannons teaching style is encouraging and individualized. Her dancers have won many convention scholarships and many have gone onto professional careers as teachers and performers. Shannons students have performed with the Joffrey Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Metropolitan Ballet, Disney and Euro Disney as well as various summer stock productions. STEVE KINCADE Owner and Lead Choreographer of NRG Dance Center Steve has been working in the dance industry for 15 years. His unique style that incorporates physical strength and the ability to create a meaningful story behind it, is sought after throughout the U.S. His choreography continues to receive national awards and recognition.Steve began his training in Minnesota. Soon he was off to Los Angeles where hereceived training at Tremaine, The Edge. Subsequently he spent time in New Yorkwhere he trained with Joe Lanteri and New York City Dance Alliance; Joey Dowling, MiaMichaels, and many others.His versatility was evident as he performed in productions such as "Atlantic City Swing"and "Club Indigo" in Atlantic City; lead roles in Disney productions including "Tarzan"where he worked with the renowned choreographer Jamie King; as well asperformances with the contemporary jazz dance company, LaJAZDANZ Dance our ofHouston, Tx. Additionally, his performances included commercials and industrials forSeven-Up, Rebok, Exxon, etc.Steve is well known in the convention circuit where he has taught master classes forStarpower National Competition and Convention, Hall of Fame Regional and National Conventions, and Move 10.His love of choreography and passion for teaching led him to keep his "roots" inMinnesota where he continues to use his skills, energy, and creativity in his devotion toinspire and challenge all his dance students in the amazing world of dance.He likes: Coffee! Flat Pill Gigi Zirbes
GIGI ZIRBES Instructor Gigi is from Maple Grove, MN and trained at Butterfields Gallerie of Dance. She received many honors during her competitive career including VIP Dancer for JUMP. She pursued her dreams in Los Angeles and studied at the Edge dance studio in Los Angeles. Gigi continues her training around the country and desires to always be a learner. She is a member and choreographer of Crash Dance Productions, a Minneapolis based contemporary dance company. Gigi teaches ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and gymnastics. She auditioned for Season 5 of SYTYCD and made it to the choreography round. She continues to pursue professional opportunities while instructing the next generation of dancers.She likes: Hanging out with friends and making up crazy hard combosShe loves: Teaching dance and helping students learn new skillsCant live without: FASHION and expressing herself in dance!

Tracy Rostamo Choreographer and InstructorTracy Rostamo trained at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance. She has taught dance for many years and hasa passion to train children in proper technique. Her classroom environment is fun loving, encouraging and focused on creative teaching methods. She brings her love of dance to her classes in a way that challenges and affirms her students. Tracy also works with her dancers to develop confidence and poise through the art of dance.Tracy has trained with some of the top choreographers and artists in the nation.

Corin McHargue
Corin McHargue Choreographer and Instructor Corin discovered his passion for dance in a tap ensemble in Iowa at the age of 7. He moved to Minnesota and began training at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance. Corin is a graduate of Energy Dance Center. He has danced in a Corp Role with Metropolitan Ballet in Romeo and Juliet and Nutcracker. His most recent role was as the Snow Prince in the Nutcracker. Corin has received Choreography Awards for his innovative tap choreography. He also choreographs and teaches a dance clinic every summer for Royal Servants. Royal Servants performs his choreography in over 17 countries internationally each year. Corin has travelled with these dance teams throughout Europe. He loves competitive dance and won a National Duet Championship at Hall of Fame and has held the titles of Mr. Starpower, Mr. Masquerade, Mr. Starquest and was the National Steven Boyd winner for Masquerade. He has also received numerous awards and scholarships including JUMP VIP and Pulse Showcase winner. Corin was recently the sole recipient of a scholarship to study dance in New York City.During his time there he was able to take classes with the cast of Wicked, the Rockettes and at BroadwayDance Center. His passion is studying movement and creating innovative choreography. Corin owns his own company, Ty Productions specializing in music editing and graphic design. Corin is currently studying Business with a focus in Entrepreneurial leadership and child development. He received his AS in Business Management May 2010. He is a classically trained pianist and is currently performing with his band Whosah.

GINA ILLIES Rising Stars Coordinator and Instructor Teaching has been Ginas passion for over 15 years. She is known for her passion, energy and funky style. She has won numerous choreography and costume awards over the years. Gina has trained with many of Americas leading dance instructors. Gina loves teaching our Rising Star dancers the fundamentals of dance and infusing them with a life long passion for moving. Ms. Gina currently teachers our competition and recreational hip hop, jazz, tap and ballet classes. But, her passion is setting the curriculum for our recreational dancers and working alongside our staff to provide the best instruction possible!She likes: Laughing and finding joy each day!She loves: FASHION, her family and learning new skillsCant live without: Her darling daughter, amazing son, and wonderful husband

Kimberlee
KIMBERLEE OLIVER Instructor Kimberlee began dancing at three years of age in Virginia Luoma Dance Studio. She danced throughout Junior and Senior High School performing with the Wayzata Trojettes Dance Team. She took dance and vocal lessons from Marcia Galle and competed in several regional competitions. She studied dance at Mankato State University taking several styles of dance and focused on instructing children in her course work. Kimberlee also studied at the Mankato Ballet Company and was a member of the Blaze Dance Line while at University. One of her favorite memories is dancing during the half-time shows at Minnesota Vikings games.She likes: Diet coke, her 70 pound dog and reading the Twilight seriesShe loves: Sharing her love of dance with her kids and familyCant live without: Training new dancers and sharing her passion with them!

Dianne Butterfield
DIANNE BUTTERFIELD Advisor, Instructor, Finance Manager If anyone has had an impact on dance in the Northwest area, Dianne is that person. Dianne founded, owned and directed the successful and nationally known Butterfield Gallerie of Dance for 30 years. Her students have become dance professionals in performance venues, teaching careers and owning studios themselves. Her logo which included: where dance has class summarizes her style and dedication to quality instruction, the benefits of technique, and an organized, effectively run studio. Dianne studied dance in northern Minnesota then on to Minnesota Dance Theatre, Gus Giordano in Evanston, Roland Dupree in LA and Fines Jung in New York. Most recently she appeared in community theater in Tucson, AZ in Showboat, Sweet Charity and Brigadoon. She is sought after as an adjucator for national competitions. Her wealth of performance experience and expertise will serve Energy Dance Center well. Diannes greatest love is working with kids. They give back, she says. She also has a passion for classical yoga, grand parenting, social dance and lots of laughter.She likes: performing and her beautiful grandchildrenShe loves: teaching yoga and danceCant live without: her family and serving others with her incredible energy

Deane Tasler
DEANE TASLER Instructor Instructor Deane Tasler trained largely at Larkin Dance Studio, with a little help from the nice folks at Zenon. His training includes tap, jazz, hip-hop, a little ballet, and lots of musical theatre. Over the last ten years, Deane has performed in nearly 20 shows with Ashland Productions (Joseph, Fiddler on the Roof, The Wizard of Oz, Children of Eden), Lakeshore Players (Crazy for You, The Laramie Project), Bloomington Civic Theatre (West Side Story, Hello, Dolly! with Sally Struthers, Cabaret), and, most recently on the main stage at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. There, he appeared as a twice-featured dancer in the tap-happy Anything Goes; as the cart wheeling rug in Disneys Beauty and the Beast; as Bernardo in West Side Story; as the sound engineer in Singin in the Rain; and most recently in Swing. He also had the great pleasure of joining the Metropolitan Ballets productions of A Midsummer Nights Dream and Agnes DeMilles Rodeo. Deanes choreography credits include the musicals The Will Rogers Follies, West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Grease, Anything Goes, Jack and the Beanstalk, and HONK!. His tap choreography has been featured at Theatre Latte Das Latte Dark; and other pieces have appeared in various variety and revue shows. Additionally, Deane has done show choir choreography, mass choir choreography, and has taught for Chanhassen Dinner Theatres summer camps. His directorial debut came this year when he worked on Ashland Productions first In-School Theatre Program. He continues to be a part of Ashlands creative team, most recently on Disneys Aladdin, Jr. and Alice in Wonderland, Jr. The past several years has brought Deanes focus to tap shoes and all the incredible music they can make. Deane attended the 2006 Maui International Tap Festival in Hawaii. While there, he took classes from tap greats Yukiko Misumi, Grant Swift, Jimmie Payne, Jr., Mark Yonally, Chloe Arnold, and Jason Samuels Smith. More locally, he has taken class with Rick Ausland of Buckets and Tap Shoes, Anthony LoCascio, who appeared in Tap Dogs, and Phil Alesso. In 2009, Deane won the Junior Division Choreography Award at International Dance Challenge in Minneapolis. Bridget burke
BRIDGET BURKE Instructor Bridget Burke started dancing at the age of three, She is highly trained in the areas of ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, and various other styles. Bridget has trained with some of the nations top instructors, and specializes in Hip Hop and contemporary. She has been the guest performer at several events and has performed at the O'Shaughnessy, Fitzgerald, and the State Theater, as well as many others. One of the highlights of Bridget's dance career thus far, was when she was featured on the Ellen DeGeneres show as one of "Old Navy Dance Cam" contest winners. She was a performer in the B-girl Be show as the only soloist. Bridget also has danced and choreographed dancers for Taj salons fashion show. Bridget has received numerous high point awards, judges choice awards and scholarships for her unique style in hip-hop. Bridget has her own unique style of dance, by mixing her hip hop into her contemporary she has found her own style that she feels is very inspirational, challenging, and fun. She graduated from the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists. She is a full time student at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. Bridget LOVES dance and is so excited to be on the staff at Energy! She likes: Cheese, meditating, and making hemp necklaces! She loves: Her family and friends. Brittany Liebrenz
BRITTANY LIEBRENZ Instructor Brittany has been training and performing in all areas of dance for the past 21 years. Starting out at age 3 she grew up in Maple Grove, MN dancing For Butterfield Gallerie of dance until the age of 18. Within that time she was awarded many regional and national Scholarships from Tremaine Dance to West Coast Dance Explosion, two titles for Miss and Teen Miss Starquest, runner up Miss Star Power, along with a feature spread in Dancer magazine where she was recognized as the Dancers choice for 2004. At the age of 15 she was chosen to perform in the Destination Dance show case based in Los Angeles. Brittany is proud alum of the Maple Grove Crimson Dance Team where she competed against other metro teams.To follow her passion for dance Brittany has traveled and trained all over the world in such areas as The Sydney Dance Company located in Sydney Australia, The Edge in Hollywood, California, New York City and Jacksonville Florida where she took place in the Florida Ballets version of the Nutcracker. For the past few years she has been working as a stylist and has performed with Northern Elite Dance Company. Most recently she was a company member and choreographer for season 1 of Breaking Boundaries Contemporary Dance Company Located in Downtown Minneapolis.Brittany strength has always been her creative drive for contemporary styles along with Jazz and lyrical.She likes: Working out at a GymShe loves: A good partyCant live without: ITALIAN FOOD!!!!

Cassi Swenson
Cassi Swenson Instructor Cassi completed her dance training at Butterfield Gallerie of Dance. She excelled in many disciplines in dance and always brings high energy to her performances. She received her degree in Occupational Therapy from St. Kates University. She learned many tools in college that she is able to use in her dance instruction. Cassi's passion is teaching students and helping them catch a love for dance. Cassi married the love of her life and they have a beautiful daughter born the summer of 2010. Cassi is committed to excellence in instruction and being a great role model. Jennifer Rockwell Edward
Jennifer Rockwell Edwards Ballet Instructoris an academic and dance aluma of the Walnut Hill High School for the Fine Arts in Natick, MA. After completing high school, she moved to France to work with Rosella Hightower's Jeune Ballet International. Upon returning to the United States, Ms. Rockwell Edwards worked as a principal dancer and guest artist with the Amherst Ballet Theater and Pioneer Valley Ballet in Western Massachusetts. Simultaneously, she attended The University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she graduated suma cum laude with a BA in psychology and a BFA in Dance Performance, focusing in injury prevention and dance physiology. She also was a dance faculty member at the Amherst Ballet School from 2000-2004. Since moving to Minneapolis in 2004, Ms Rockwell Edward has danced with The Minnesota Dance Theater as well as with other companies in the Twin Cities and has been a principal artist with the Saint Paul City Ballet Company since its inception in 2007. Ms. Rockwell Edwards was the head of the ballet program at Legacy Dance Studio from 2005-2011, where she taught all levels of ballet and pointe technique as well as choreographing many new works for performance and competitions. She is currently a faculty member at the Saint Paul City Ballet School where she teaches advanced ballet, pointe, injury prevention and conditioning, and is very happy to be a new part of the NRG Dance Center family.
